Hildigunnur Georgsdóttir

Clinic co-founder who leads the surgical side of the practice with a strong focus on soft tissue surgery.

Hildigunnur Georgsdóttir graduated as a veterinarian from Norges Veterinærhøgskole in 2005. She worked in Sweden from 2005 to 2008 before moving back to Iceland and joining Dýraspítalinn í Víðidal.

In 2013, Hildigunnur and Katla opened Dýralæknastofa Reykjavíkur, then located on Grensásvegur. Hildigunnur practices general veterinary medicine, with her strongest focus on surgery, and continues advanced training in soft tissue procedures through the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies.

Katla Guðrún

Veterinarian Katla Guðrún graduated from the veterinary university in Budapest in 2008. She moved to France after graduation, but home called her back and she returned to Iceland in 2009. After working at several animal hospitals, she co-founded Dýralæknastofa Reykjavíkur with Hildigunnur in 2013.

Katla is undertaking advanced studies in companion animal dentistry through ESAVS. She has completed seven courses there and is currently working toward their certificate programme.

Katla is married and has one daughter. Her family also includes Bella the whippet queen, Bárður the lovable troublemaker, and three cats: Ólafur, Guðmundur and Ágúst.

Inam

Focused on small animal internal medicine with a particular interest in feline care and disease.

Inam graduated from veterinary school in Budapest in 2014. For the first eight years after graduation, Inam lived and worked in Denmark before joining Dýralæknastofa Reykjavíkur in 2023.

Inam has attended numerous courses and conferences and completed postgraduate training in small animal internal medicine in 2025/26. Inam is now also enrolled in feline medicine distance education through the University of Sydney.

Inam is married and has a son and a daughter. At home, the family includes Aska the dog and the cats Sigga and Sæmundur.

Jóhanna Ósk

Works in general small animal practice with a special interest in surgery.

Veterinarian Jóhanna Ósk is a 32-year-old from Reykjavík. She graduated in Slovakia in 2023 but has already been connected with Dýralæknastofa Reykjavíkur since 2020.

Jóhanna is especially interested in small animals and small animal surgery. She and her fiancé share their home with Tinna, a beloved 16-year-old miniature poodle.

Veterinary nurse

Tyler Docker

Originally from Toronto, with a special interest in anaesthesia, dentistry and patient care.

Tyler Docker is a veterinary nurse from Toronto, Canada, and graduated from Northern College in 2010. He joined our team in November 2024.

He has a strong interest in anaesthesia, dentistry and patient care. Tyler is CPR certified and is currently continuing his education in anaesthesia through ESAVS.

Outside work, Tyler enjoys staying active, reading gripping fiction, discovering new destinations and finding a good running trail in nature. He shares life with his fiancé and their cat, Zereshk.

Veterinary nurse · anaesthesia and dental procedures

Sandra Dís

Has been with the clinic since 2019 and focuses primarily on anaesthesia and dental procedures for small animals.

Sandra Dís is a 27-year-old from Hafnarfjörður and has worked at Dýralæknastofa Reykjavíkur since January 2019 as a veterinary assistant.

She is a qualified veterinary nurse from the Australian College of Veterinary Nursing and mainly handles anaesthesia and dental procedures for small animals.

Sandra Dís shares life with Móa, a wonderfully mischievous Vorsteh, who certainly keeps both her and her fiancé on their toes. They also have Skari, a regal Maine Coon.

Veterinary assistant

Birgitta Ýr Bjarkadóttir

Joined the clinic in November 2024 and plans to begin formal veterinary nursing studies soon.

Birgitta Ýr Bjarkadóttir is a 25-year-old from Reykjavík and works as a veterinary assistant. She has been part of the clinic since November 2024.

Birgitta plans to begin veterinary nursing studies soon. She shares life with her Australian ‘supermodels,’ Þyrnir and Navy, and has a strong interest in obedience work and strength training for dogs.

Veterinary assistant

Kristrún

A biologist with a master’s degree and a special enthusiasm for birds.

Kristrún is 23 years old and works as a veterinary assistant. She was born in Thailand, moved to Iceland at the age of four and grew up in Neskaupstaður.

She has always had a deep interest in animals, which led her into biology. Kristrún moved to Reykjavík in 2020 to study at the University of Iceland, graduated with a biology degree in spring 2023 and has now also completed her master’s degree.

She is especially fascinated by birds, so small feathered patients are always an exciting part of the day for her.
